HotTea Mamma Get Up and Glow Tea

When you need a boost but caffeine is off the menu, this zingy fruit tea helps you get up & glow. Bursting with tropical flavours, it will have you energised and glowing in no time, whether you're pregnant or not.

Grapes are used as the base of this tea blend.
This means that along with vitamin C, you also get a gentle natural sugar lift.  It's the perfect way to replicate caffeine in the healthiest way possible.

Only whole leaf, natural ingredients are used to ensure that you get the full flavour and goodness of the fruits and flowers.  The whole leaf, plastic free, biodegradable tea bags are plant based and release fewer tannins into a brew, ensuring it is gently uplifting and smooth.

We're also proud to say that Get Up & Glow won Best Maternity Product in the 2019 UK Baby Awards.

Crafted for pregnancy and beyond - you can enjoy this blend whether you're pregnant, breastfeeding or simply caffeine conscious and reducing your caffeine intake.  There's no time of life where a cup of Get Up & Glow isn't a good idea!

Gluten free and Vegan friendly

Contains 15 whole leaf, plastic free, biodegradable tea pyramids.
They can be used to make 30 cups of tea or more.

Caffeine is a wonderful thing, but there are many reasons you may want to reduce your intake to under 200mg per day.

1. If you feel stressed or anxious - caffeine can worsen these feelings by producing cortisol in the body, and putting other hormones off balance.

2. If you're trying to get pregnant - studies show that excessive caffeine consumption can affect fertility rates. This isn't something to panic about too much, as up to 200mg is totally fine, but do balance it.

3. If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, the NHS recommend limiting caffeine in order to ensure your baby doesn't absorb too much and have their development affected.

Totally tropical – perfectly balanced sweetness and tartness

This bright red infusion comes from the Hibiscus Flowers which have a tart sweetness to wake up your palate. The Rosehips also add to this zingy flavour.

Grapes balance the tart flavour with sweetness as a perk up whilst tropical notes of pineapple and mango come from natural flavours.

We don’t recommend adding milk or sugar, but follow your cravings and personal taste!

1. Place 1 whole leaf tea bag in a 300ml cup
2. Pour freshly boiled water over it
3. Brew for 3-5 minutes, depending on your taste
4. Remove bag from cup, and keep in a small dish (or egg cup!) by your kettle
5. Re-brew your bag, and just leave it in the cup for a little longer
6. Relax and take a moment with your cuppa.

We don’t recommend adding milk, but honey is a perfect match if you have a sweet tooth.

- Each box contains 15 whole leaf tea bags.
- They are totally plastic free, made from cornstarch which is 100% biodegradable. Once you've enjoyed your cuppa, put the bag in your food bin, as they'll take years to decompose on a home compost.
- The inner bag which holds the tea bags is also biodegradable - it's derived from paper! Put this in your food bin too.
- And don't forget to recycle the box! It can biodegrade too, but recycling is the most eco-friendly option.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many cups can I have a day?

NHS guidelines recommend a maximum 3 cups of any herbal tea a day. Whilst this tea is not a drug, and is a natural remedy, you should give it 3-5 days to have an impact. The impact of natural galactagogues will vary person to person.

How is this a good alternative to caffeine?

Like the fresh fruits that they’re made from, the fruit in our Get Up and Glow blend have lots of health benefits. They contain a variety of minerals, vitamins and antioxidants. The grapes, hibiscus flowers and rosehip peels, all contain vitamin C which will help your immune system and help to protect you picking up colds – horrific in pregnancy.

The natural, low levels of sugar that naturally occur in the fruit infusion will also give you a pick up when you need it, without flooding your system with sugar.

Rosehips contain a variety of antioxidants; carotenoids, flavonoids, polyphenols, leucoanthocyanins and catechins, as well as 50% more vitamin C than oranges, an excellent immune booster.

Likewise, hibiscus is high in vitamin C and antioxidants. A trial In 2009 studied hibiscus’s ability to support cholesterol maintenance, this time in people concerned with healthy blood sugar levels. Sixty subjects, mostly women, were given either one cup of hibiscus tea or black tea twice per day. After one month, hibiscus was able to help maintain total, LDL, and HDL cholesterol levels — as well as triglycerides — already within a healthy range.* Black tea, on the other hand, only impacted HDL levels. (Mozaffari-Khosravi H, Jalali-Khanabadi B, Afkhami-Ardehani M, Fatehi F. . J Altern and Comp Med 2009;15(8):899-903.)

Grapes are high in vitamin K, carotenes, vitamin B-complex, vitamin C and vitamin A, as well as micronutrient minerals like iron, manganese and copper.

It’ll have you revitalised, refreshed and ready to get up and glow whether you’re pregnant, or a hard working mum.
